About Me

Hello, I have lived a very interesting life with collections of great lived experiences thanks to education. I continue to learn how to give my students a great online receptacle to learn and review what I need them to learn to work with young children.

Struggles of a Novice technology teacher

 What would I do differently:

👍

In the ten weeks that I have worked on this course, I have to work with many different items. These items are not ones that I would use every day, and I can say that I really did not understand these assignments since I do not have a job that allows for the exploration of technology (we are only allowed 30 minutes a week of technology). In the evening, the learning curve is very steep when working with new applications. I really did learn so much!

I have such aspirations for the summer as I am working to put more of my material online.

I put more into this blog. I hope you forgive the fact that I used a simpler, to me, format than the word one. I will like to work on learning more about blogging. I plan on a weekly I will blog on a topic that is important to my topic. Especially when we have tests from the state.

Topics on testing may help some of the problem areas and the comment section may help some students need to get through the test.

On Blogger, I am able to put in a calendar as well as a running conversation.

Change for the future:

👦👧👨👩

What would I change if I did this blended class again? Well, I will since I like the list of new applications that I learned about. I will also work on posting assignments that include the Project-Based assignments that I do love in class. This year I did have one activity where the students did use the slides program to complete an activity required for the portfolio.

I would love to use an eportfolio but the state does not allow that. My students for the time will have to be use paper and pencil.

I am a mother of two and the wife of one.

While many want to be a doctorate, I feel it is the one thing that will bring me to the top of Maslow's Hierarchy of Human Needs.

I started this journey many years ago, but life happened. My children needed me and I was busy living.

So this year was my year of not moving it feels like. So I cut my hair. Focused on learning new material and focus on getting through this very long and very tough year.

I really need a journal so that I have something to document my journey for myself. I feel that this blog may be my outlet. I am not worried about anyone reading this and but if I can help someone great!

I am a Maker. I make all kinds of things ... here is wall storage that is made of an air conditioner duct, and some PVC pipe

I have taught for over 35 years now and really do not feel like I am ready to retire. I want to work in higher education after my 30 years with the school district that I am with right now. But I want to retire from the day-to-day classroom experience.

My attempts of learning at 58

You know I really thought I was good at this technology thing. I never knew that I was so far behind my peers in this College Class. I mean I was the one who convinced the county to buy Canvas, so we could count not only seat time but online time.

I did the first year during the pandemic and found that I was the most boring person on the block. This class only really had quizzes on it. I want more. I want my students to get more. So I decided to do a week-long blended lesson on these guys:

Vygotsky

 Piaget

 Montessori
 Maslow

 Erickson

The most exciting part of this is that my students will have better ways of learning. While this blog is not from an experienced blogger. I want over the summer to make the students have a quality online learning experience.
